§ 17-316. Violations.

  • (a)

    It is a civil traffic violation for any person to do any act forbidden or fail to perform any act required in this article. The Arizona Rules of Procedure in Civil Traffic Violation Cases apply to the citation and prosecution of any violation.

    (b)

    It is unlawful for an owner of a vehicle regulated by this article to permit the vehicle to be operated in violation of this article.

    (c)

    It is unlawful to operate an oversize or overweight load on a city street without:

    (1)

    An envelope permit issued under Arizona Revised Statutes, Title 28, Chapter 3, Article 19, or a city permit issued under this article; and

    (2)

    Insurance required by law.

    (d)

    It is unlawful to operate a vehicle for a haul on a city street without:

    (1)

    An applicable city permit issued or haul route approved under this article; and

    (2)

    Insurance required by law.

    (e)

    It is unlawful for any person to violate any condition of a permit issued under this article.

    (f)

    Each violation is subject to a civil sanction of at least one thousand dollars ($1,000.00).
