§ 23-33. Notice of disposition.

  • (a)

    Before any unclaimed property is disposed of pursuant to this article, the police department shall prepare and either serve or publish a notice of disposition containing the following information:

    (1)

    A brief description of the property.

    (2)

    The name and address of the owner or finder of the property, if known.

    (3)

    The date wherein the owner or finder must claim and take possession of the property, as provided in this article.

    (4)

    The proposed disposition of the property.

    (b)

    This section shall not apply to property valued at less than one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00), where the name of the owner and/or finder are not known.
