§ 2-5. Call of referendum election.

  • When a referendum is required to be placed upon the ballot, the city council shall do so at the next regularly scheduled city general election. The council may call a special election for this purpose when the scheduling of a special election permits the issue to be sooner determined. Any election at which a referendum is placed upon the ballot shall be scheduled as provided in Arizona Revised Statutes section 16-204, or successor statute, as applicable.
